Was any research done to determine the need for Roundup River Ranch?
Yes. Prior to beginning fundraising, Roundup River Ranch commissioned an independent research firm to perform a study to determine the need for a new camp in Rocky Mountain Region. This study found that there were more than 35,000 seriously ill children in the region and less than 15 percent of those children had an opportunity to attend camp.

When will Roundup River Ranch open?
We will be breaking ground in 2009 and plan to hold our first camp sessions in 2011.

Will Roundup River Ranch be open year-round?
Yes. Although the majority of our programs will take place during the summer, the camp will operate throughout the year. We will provide week-long camp sessions during the summer. The remainder of the year will include family retreat weekends, sibling weekends and camper reunions. It is our intention to maximize the use of the camp and reach the largest number of children and families possible.

How much do the children and families pay to attend?
Roundup River Ranch is free of any charge to the children and families. We will rely on the generosity of individuals, corporations and foundations to meet our operating needs.

What types of gifts to you accept?
The most common type of gift is cash.  An immediate gift of cash provides us with the ability to pay current operating expenses and help us build revenue for future construction of the Camp.. Other forms of gifts include appreciated securities such as stocks, bonds and mutual funds, and in-kind gifts of building materials, program/medical supplies or other contributions that meet a specific need of the Camp. These gifts will be recognized based on their fair market or retail value.  In addition we accept gifts through IRAs (individual retirement accounts), bequests and other charitable gift vehicles.

Can I make a pledge payable over several years?
Yes. For obvious reasons, the earlier a gift can be received, the better we will be able to meet our construction schedule. However, we also hope that our relationship with contributors will be a long-term partnership. We recognize that many people are able to make an even greater impact if they spread their contributions out over a number of years. As a result, we accept pledges for payment of gifts over multiple years, not to exceed five years.

Is my gift tax deductible?
Yes!  Roundup River Ranch is a Colorado-based 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization. All contributions are tax deductible to the fullest extent of the law.  If you are a Colorado tax payer, you also qualify for the Colorado Child Care Contribution Credit which provides you with a 50% state tax credit on any donation greater than $500.  This is in addition to the federal tax deduction of the gift.
