The Camp

The Campers

An independent firm conducted a Needs Assessment for Roundup River Ranch to determine what percentage of children with serious illnesses in Roundup River Ranch potential service area has the opportunity to go to camp.

The results conclude that there is a substantial need for more camping experiences for these children. There are more than 35,000 children with serious illnesses in the region and less than 15 percent of these children are able to attend a camp because of their illness.

Based on the current services and existing gaps, Roundup River Ranch intends to serve children from ages  7-17 with:

  • Oklahoma
  • South Dakota
  • Texas
  • Utah

On the Road

In the summers of 2007 and 2008, Roundup River Ranch participated in the Hole in the Wall Camps Virtual Camps program which we named "On the Road." Over two summers, more than 40 children participated in the program, spending a session at Camp Boggy Creek in Florida, The Painted Turtle in California, The Hole in the Wall Gang Camp in Connecticut and Victory Junction Gang Camp in North Carolina. The campers had the time of their lives! We plan on continuing and growing the "On the Road" program until we hold sessions on our site in Colorado.
