The Site
The Roundup River Ranch site is a stunning 85 acres along the Colorado River, at an elevation of 6,275 feet, eight miles north of Dotsero, Colorado, and 15 miles from the Eagle County Airport. The site is 2 ½ hours from Denver International Airport and 2 hours from central Denver. The land is relatively flat, which will give campers good mobility on the site and allow for flexibility in design and construction. There is a small, charming homestead cabin at the entrance to the property as well as a trapper’s cabin ruin which will be retained for character and incorporated into the design of the site as a remote destination for campers to have meals, activities or a campfire. The Denver Rio Grande Western Railroad track runs along the eastern boundary of the camp and adds great western charm to the location. While most of the adjoining acreage is privately owned, there is tremendous amount of National Forest and Bureau of Land Management land in the vicinity, which provides additional visual open space.
Construction of the camp is expected to begin in 2009. Continue to check back for more design progress.
